So Near and Yet So Far is working title for an outdoor, public art installation which draws attention to the fact that New York City is surrounded by water but has few places to directly experience the shoreline.
Without access to the shoreline we miss the experience of daily tidal changes and are removed from the fascinating plants and animals who live at the water’s edge. The In September 2011 we launched a mini-test flotilla in the Bronx River.
