I was going to type something up about this film which I saw last week. I was able to catch the tail end of the A Different Picture: Women Filmmakers in the New Hollywood Era, 1967—1980. I had a few of the films marked in my calendar including the films by Elaine May (which I’ve never seen!?!?) but I wasn’t able to make any except Girlfriends.
I love this little write up in Screen Slate Daily so I’ll just post it here instead of wracking my own brain on how to describe this film which is assembled from wonderfully constructed and played scenes.
