The American Folk Museum has curated a show Compass: Folk Art in Four Directions that is currently on display at the Southstreet Seaport Museum. I thought it would be a fun thing to take Huck to. And it was — a great collection of objects, paintings and drawings many of which he responded to. Huck liked the chair pictured below on the left.
The chair reminded me of other chairs. Pictured on the right are chairs in the Peasant Museum in Bucharest, Romania. The Peasant Museum’s collection of fascinating objects is passionately curated and it has the best wall text I’ve ever read about any kind of art, anywhere.
